Identify Family Status
State rural development or urban department conducts survey to identify poorest-of-the-poor families.

Ration Card Issuance & PDS Collection
Upon approval, the yellow Antyodaya Ration Card is issued. Start collecting subsidized monthly grains at the nearest FPS shop.

Antyodaya Anna Yojana (AAY) is a flagship centrally sponsored scheme launched by the Government of India to ensure food security for the poorest segments of the population. Implemented under the Targeted Public Distribution System (TPDS), the scheme provides 35 kilograms of highly subsidized food grains per month to each identified family. Eligible beneficiaries can purchase wheat at ₹2 per kg and rice at ₹3 per kg through a network of Fair Price Shops (ration shops) using unique yellow Antyodaya ration cards.
