Additional Details
Kishore Vaigyanik Protsahan Yojana (KVPY) was a national fellowship program in basic sciences, initiated and funded by the Department of Science and Technology, Government of India. The scheme aimed to identify and encourage talented students with an aptitude for research. It offered monthly fellowships and annual contingency grants to selected students from Class 11 up to the pre-PhD level. In July 2022, the DST decided to subsume KVPY under the INSPIRE fellowship program. However, ongoing KVPY fellows continue to receive their fellowship benefits as per the standard Department of Science and Technology (DST) norms.
