Additional Details
The National Service Scheme (NSS) is an Indian government-sponsored public service program conducted by the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports. Guided by the motto 'Not Me But You', NSS aims to instill social responsibility and civic consciousness in young students while they pursue their studies. The program engages student volunteers in secondary schools, colleges, and universities across India in community service activities. NSS activities include health awareness campaigns, environmental conservation drives (such as tree-planting and cleanliness drives), disaster relief support, and adult literacy programs. It also features a compulsory residential camping program to foster rural integration and nation-building.
