- PMBJP requires an active operating retail pharmacy entity or individual registered pharmacist.
How to apply
Online Store Application
Submit a proposal on the PMBI portal to establish a new Janaushadhi Kendra with space requirements (minimum 120 sq ft).
Drug License & Approval
Acquire the required retail drug license in the name of the pharmacist and secure final approval from PMBI.
Procurement & Launch
Sign a memorandum, set up the storage infrastructure matching WHO-GDP guidelines, and procure medicines directly from PMBI.

The Pradhan Mantri Bharatiya Janaushadhi Pariyojana (PMBJP) is a public welfare campaign launched by the Department of Pharmaceuticals, Ministry of Chemicals and Fertilizers, Government of India. The scheme aims to make quality generic medicines, surgical devices, and consumable healthcare items available to everyone, particularly the poor, at prices 50% to 90% cheaper than branded equivalents. These items are distributed through a nationwide network of dedicated outlets known as Janaushadhi Kendras.
