Additional Details
Pradhan Mantri Gramin Awas Yojana (PMAY-G) is a flagship social welfare programme under the Ministry of Rural Development, Government of India, aimed at providing housing for the rural poor. The scheme provides financial assistance of ₹1,20,000 in plain areas and ₹1,30,000 in hilly, difficult, and LWE (Left Wing Extremism) areas for construction of houses. Under PMAY-G, beneficiaries are identified based on Socio-Economic and Caste Census (SECC) data, followed by verification by Gram Sabhas. Houses built under this scheme are equipped with essential amenities like clean drinking water, electricity (via Saubhagya), toilets (via Swachh Bharat Mission), and clean cooking gas (via Ujjwala Yojana) through convergence with other government programs.
