Additional Details
Pradhan Mantri Kisan Urja Suraksha Evam Utthan Mahabhiyan (PM-KUSUM) was launched in March 2019 by the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE). The scheme aims to de-dieselize the farm sector and provide financial and water security to farmers by setting up solar pumps and other renewable power plants. Under KUSUM, the Central and State Governments provide a combined 60% subsidy, banks can cover up to 30% via loans, and the farmer pays only 10% of the total installation cost.
