Rashtriya Uchchatar Shiksha Abhiyan (RUSA), recently revamped as Pradhan Mantri Uchchatar Shiksha Abhiyan (PM-USHA), is a centrally sponsored scheme initiated by the Ministry of Education, Government of India. The program aims to provide strategic and outcome-linked funding to state public universities and colleges across India. The funding is shared in a 60:40 ratio between the Centre and States/UTs (90:10 for Special Category states/UTs). The scheme aims to improve overall quality, ensure academic/examination reforms, devises planning councils, and promote equity in higher education access.
