Additional Details
Saubhagya Scheme (Pradhan Mantri Sahaj Bijli Har Ghar Yojana) is a major household electrification initiative launched in September 2017. The scheme aims to achieve universal household electrification by providing free electricity connections to poor households (identified via SECC 2011) and at a nominal cost of ₹500 (payable in instalments) for other households. The scheme provides a basic toolkit containing an LED light, DC power plug, and five years of meter maintenance.
