Additional Details
Setu Bharatam was launched by the Government of India with an aim to make all national highways free of railway level crossings. This program is designed to prevent frequent accidents and loss of lives at level crossings. Under the project, Railway Over Bridges (ROBs) and Railway Under Bridges (RUBs) are constructed at level crossings. Additionally, dilapidated British-era bridges across the highway network are rehabilitated, widened, or replaced in a phased manner.
