Sukanya Samriddhi Yojana (SSY) is a central government-backed savings scheme targeted at the parents of girl children. Launched in January 2015 under the Beti Bachao Beti Padhao campaign, the scheme encourages parents to build a fund for the future education and marriage of their female child.
