• Turnover exceeds the MSME ceiling — Udyam is for Micro / Small / Medium enterprises only.

Before you apply

Most rejections happen because of small data mismatches, not eligibility. Clear these checks first — each takes a few minutes and saves weeks.

   Is your mobile number linked to your Aadhaar?

   Registration uses Aadhaar OTP sent to your linked mobile. If your number changed, update it at an Aadhaar Seva Kendra before you start — OTP failure is the most common reason registrations stall.

   Does your name match exactly across Aadhaar and PAN?

   Udyam pulls both records and silently rejects mismatches (spelling, initials, missing middle name). Compare the two documents letter by letter; correct whichever is wrong before applying.

How to apply

   Visit udyamregistration.gov.in

   **Important:** Only this official URL. Free service.

   Aadhaar-OTP verification of authorised signatory

   Aadhaar must be linked to mobile.

   Enter PAN, business details, NIC code, employee count, turnover band

   All fields self-declared; no document uploads required.

4. 4

   Receive Udyam Registration Certificate

   Generated immediately, also emailed.

What to expect after applying

There is no waiting period — the Udyam certificate is generated immediately after the form is submitted and also emailed to you. If the portal fails at the final step, your data is usually saved; retry with the same Aadhaar.

Common rejection reasons — and how to avoid them

• Name or date of birth differs between Aadhaar and PAN

  How to avoid it: The portal cross-checks both records and stops at the validation step. Correct the mismatched document first (see "Before you apply").

• Aadhaar OTP never arrives

  How to avoid it: OTP goes only to the mobile number linked to Aadhaar — not to any number you type. Update your linked number at an Aadhaar Seva Kendra before applying.
